Every Third Thursday of the month | 7pm – 10pm
Every third Thursday evening each month, ArtScience Museum keeps its doors open straight through until 10pm offering free performances, late exhibition viewings and special 1-for-1 entry to exhibitions (7pm-10pm).*
Shake off your mid-week doldrums and experience all the evening has to offer. See a different side of the museum after regular hours where exploration and experimentation are de rigueur of the night; where artistic collaboration and discovery take over the museum’s spaces; where disciplinary boundaries are challenged as performance and new media art collide and meld together.
ArtScience Late x Syndicate
16 Mar | 8pm
Audiovisual collective Syndicate presents an evening of experimental sounds and visuals, delving into the world of astrological myths, galactic sounds and planetary-inspired visuals.
About the Artist
Syndicate is Singapore’s foremost forward-thinking audiovisual collective. With an ethos focused on experimentation and self-expression, Syndicate artists have presented a versatile range of works – from live electronic music showcases to architectural projection mapping, art installations and photography. Since its inception in 2010, the collective has represented Singapore in the US and Europe playing capacity crowds in intimate clubs and international music festivals.
As part of i Light Marina Bay 2017, Syndicate takes over the museum’s iconic façade from 3 to 26 March, making it come alive with their must-see architectural projection-mapping spectacular, Secret Galaxies. It presents a confluence of visual imageries based on the humanistic relationships with the night sky. Accessible by all and yet almost untouched by mankind, this celestial view plays many roles in our psyche and everyday lives. As we blur the hard lines that separate science, faith, art, and magic, it is through this convergent lens that we invite you to view these Secret Galaxies.
ArtScience Late x Ethos Books: The Storm is You
By adapting from fiction, and interplaying literary devices with promenade and forum theatre, this ArtScience Late performance thrives on dreams and imagination, entering new frontiers. We invite you to step into the story of Jasper, whose fate has already been decided by an omniscient narrator. Guided by a voice that will narrate and prompt, you are a character participating in the story of Jasper, where every choice you make is a choice of consequence for Jasper.
Based on Dylan Randall Wong’s This Storm Is You from This Is How You Walk On The Moon: An Anthology of Anti-realist Fiction published by Ethos Books, performed by theatre practitioners Epiphany and accompanied by live music from the students of the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music – NUS. This programme is part of the Art and Science of Space season.
